Jembisa Safari House is for those seeking an exceptional and personal African Safari. The lodge only accepts one booking at a time to ensure an exclusive holiday and that each guest's stay is tailor-made to their precise requirements.

Jembisa is the perfect choice for family safaris or small groups of friends looking to experience the true African hospitality and wildlife in a private, luxury safari lodge set within a private game reserve. It was originally built as a family home and still owned by the family. Jembisa offers a wonderful atmosphere of relaxation and comfort.

The lodge is constructed from local stone and thatch in harmony with its surroundings. Beautifully designed, the lodge offers spacious rooms decorated with natural materials in an Afro-Colonial style. Since the property has been a family home, it benefits from some extra perks not normally found at safari loges. More specifically, the lodge boasts a library, reading room, games room and tennis court.

A fabulous chef from Zimbabwe prepares delicious meals for guests using only the freshet ingredients to include those from the lodge's large, organic kitchen garden. Meals are varied affairs and may include picnics in the bush, dinner under the stars, lunch on the terrace and al fresco breakfasts and brunches.

The accommodations at Jembisa are extremely comfortable and great care has been taken to ensure that everything is available to meet guest's needs. There are five luxury en-suite bedrooms, three with private balconies plus a children's bunkroom. The arrangements are extremely flexible to suit each party's needs. Bunk beds and cots for children area available. Additionally, please note that all bathrooms are equipped with both a shower and bath.

Additionally, there are three small self catering lodges available for rental. They are quite secluded, private and fully equipped. The self catering lodges boast such exotic names as Kingfisher Cottage, Podica Bush Camp and River Cottage.

Guests at the lodge will enjoy the wide diversity of game including rhino, leopard, hippo and crocodile. Indeed, 7 km. of the beautiful Palala River winds through the middle of the reserve which is malaria free and a three hour drive from Johannesburg. Abundant bird life and guided walks and game drives are available as well.
